I like nothing rye…so I took the Vidalia and found another recipe…the chicken was AMAZING!
Vidalia Reuben Casserole Recipe
Serve it tonight: Preheat oven to 350°. Combine first 3 ingredients in a medium bowl; set aside. In a greased 9 x 13 baking dish; layer 1/3 of bread strips, pastrami, sauerkraut, sour cream mixture and shredded cheese. Repeat twice, ending with a layer of cheese. Cover with foil; bake 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until casserole is bubbly. Makes 6 servings.
Serve it later: Assemble unbaked casserole in a disposable foil pan; cover with foil and freeze. Thaw completely. Bake as directed above.
Tip: Use a disposable pan to prepare the dish. If you desire, freeze items in resealable bags and assemble before baking. Suggested sides: Pickle spears and potato chips
